In 1929, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed a chair with a single concept in mind. His Barcelona® chair, created for the German pavilion at the Barcelona World Exhibition, represented the synthesis of old and new: it combined the comfort of home with the thrill of innovation.
Now this design icon is not only beautiful, but also very comfortable, as Knoll presents Barcelona Relax. Knoll has put a lot of effort and research into making the original design more comfortable and bringing a more familiar look by adding a softer, more adapted pillow.
The new Knoll International relaxation chair is available in a new leather – Venezia – available in black, natural, ivory, brown and dark brown. The frame of the Barcelona chair is made of tubular steel with a polished stainless steel finish and the attachment for the seat and back cushion is made of core leather. The Knoll Studio logo and Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe’s signature are engraved on the leg of the chair. The Knoll Studio logo and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s signature are printed on the leg of each individual product.
